graduation weekend pictures

alex's mom sent me some pictures from his graduation weekend, so i thought i'd share!

the first one is out at ludwell; his freshman hallmates had a bbq for everyone's families, etc so we went and had delicious pierce's for dinner. also, they were playing some game where to have to knock an empty beer bottle off a pole with a frisbee...alex probably knows the rules, could be a new BOG event...

here we are at his departmental graduation in the adair gymnasium. doesn't he look collegiate :)

and finally, a celebratory dinner at sal's, complete with an alumni hat and tshirt from his parents!

it's baaaaaaack!

so from what i'm reading, it looks like scrubs isn't done after all...apparently ABC plans to pick it up in the fall! does anyone (namely chris) have any more details on this, like which cast members won't be returning, etc? are my sources way off base here? let me know what you've heard!

more construction news...

for all you dc commuters, this may or may not affect your life dramatically, but i thought it was worth pointing out anyways. you may already know, construction is scheduled to begin on the 14th st bridge tuesday after memorial day. here's an article with all the details; basically, it sounds like if you can avoid it, you should, even during non-rush hour times. yuck.

construction at work

i work on the 6th floor of my office building and the 5th floor is currently undergoing a major overhaul. i'm not sure what they are doing today, but i'm fairly confident someone is drilling/nailing directly into the floor under my feet. it has given me several small heart attacks as the peace and quiet of the cloffice is sporadically interrupted by the loud wheezing of a giant drill or the pounding of nails beneath me. awesome. i am sooooo glad it's friday.

weekend update

this weekend i went down to williamsburg to visit alex! friday i got off work early and headed down to hit outlets; then we had ritas and fajitas at jordan's place, which was super fun. then saturday, alex had his last meet ever, and although it didn't go as well as he would have liked, it was still great to see him get out there, and see how much his teammates have appreciated his leadership over the years. after the meet, we went out for mexican food with brandon, and he and alex celebrated the end of alex's career with 32 oz beers...needless to say, after lunch alex and i went back and took naps :)

sunday, we went to church and jamie gave us free tickets to an LPGA golf event down at Kingsmill! we'd never been to a golf event before, so we decided to go, and it was a lot of fun! it was great to be out in the sunshine, and actually really interesting to watch the golfers. although i'm not much of a golfer myself (meaning not at ALL), i still had a good time.

anyways, it was a great weekend; it's hard to believe that next weekend is graduation! can't believe it's already been a year...my, how time does seem to fly...

lost theory

last night, maggie, katie, kayla, and i were debating the potential theories on time travel and their impact on the finale of lost and the characters involved. well, today i was taking a lost trivia quiz, and i came upon an interesting question regarding faraday's thoughts on time travel. in short, apparently faraday's belief was that consciousness travels but the body does not. i'm not really sure what this means for our discussion last night, but i'm interested to hear what ya'll think!

i was saying if jack successfully detonates the bomb, destroys the energy pocket, and keeps flight 815 from ever crashing, that their plane would have to safely land in LA without anyone remembering anything from the entire island experience (i.e. the split universe theory). now, if faraday is right and the body never actually travels, where are everyone's bodies being held while their consciousness bounces around? what does this mean for people that die in the "wrong" time (i.e. faraday himself)? thoughts?

on a more disturbing note, i took a "jack" themed quiz and actually knew his seat assignment on flight 815. it was multiple choice but still, 23 B, who knows that??

the prez at ray's hellburger!!!

the president (of the United States that is) was at ray's hellburger today! check out the video...no matter how you feel about the guy's politics, it's pretty cool to live in a city where the president eats lunch like 50 yards from my house!!!
