today i dropped my brother off at the airport (we had a great visit, more on that later) and took the dog with me to say goodbye. on the way home i decided i'd swing through the grocery store to grab a few quick things on my list. well, i cracked the windows for the dog (a feat given the crank windows and a tiny dog that can squeeze through small spaces) and headed inside for about 10 minutes. when i got back in my car, a woman knocked on my window and this was our exchange:
random woman: "i wanted you to know i called the police on you"
me (befuddled): "why did you do that?"
crazy woman: "you left your dog in the car and it's hot outside!"
me (annoyed): "i was inside for 10 minutes, the dog is fine..."
crazy b****: "i called the police 5 minutes ago!"
i decided rather than respond i would just go home and call the police to straighten out the matter, which i did and all is well. they had "dispatched a unit" but i was already home and had unloaded my groceries before they had even arrived at the "scene". i am glad to report that i have avoided yet another day on this town's most wanted list.

wow that's really annoying. remember that time that crazy lady yelled at us for driving in the harris teeter parking lot and then yelled at you for 'smiling' or something like that? i bet it was the same woman.
Do you have her name? I'll call the police on her for wasting the police department's time. But that's hilarious.
Oh my! You should think of it as a compliment... Leonidas is sooo darn cute that they lady was just concerned. Still ridiculous. I'm glad the police didn't give you a hard time!
